my developments

web applications

Here you can find more information on web applications I have designed and developed following the entire development process from the project board to the final go-live release. In some cases, I am still maintaining and/or supporting the source code.

By web applications I am referring to applications that run in a hosted environment and can be accessed with standard browsers, or web based services that can be accessed by web or non-web based application via API calls.

commercial website :: for Envisage Cloud Limited

commercial website | for Envisage Cloud Limited

This project was focused on creating an SEO optimised framework and CMS onto which I developed a commercial website for the company. I learned a lot about the SEO side of things through collaboration with Sinéad Hayes, Marketing Manager at Envisage Cloud Limited. This allowed me to build an ASP.Net based framework (including a CMS) and an SEO focused commercial web site.

This project was good fun and incredibly enriching in relation to how the search engine world has revolutionised how web site content and underlying HTML is conceived.

The framework data-layer and part of the presentation layer were built in C#, the back-end database is SQL and the server script side is ASP.NET (C#). The website and database are hosted on Microsoft AZURE cloud platform.

commerical website :: for OSSM Cloud Solutions

commercial website | for Envisage Cloud Limited

this web site was built using the same framework described above. It was initially hosted by another provider, later moved to Microsoft AZURE cloud platform.

In this case, I was working with a pre-existing website design so, other than adjusting the base page layout and CSS styles, I drew most of the website graphics including, of course, the main Super OSSM character. So, any image that is comic-like is mine, manually drawn (because that's the way I like it), then digitalised and painted.

Furthermore, I created a commercial doodle for OSSM Cloud that is available on the OSSM Cloud website or from youtube.

cloud-based software licensing system :: for Envisage Cloud Limited

The current IT environment is quickly shifting towards SaaS, which is often offered with monthly subscriptions. From a software development point of view, providing long and cumbersome license keys to copy and paste somewhere was becoming impractical and very dated as a practice.

This project was aimed at solving this issue by providing a web-based system that could be used to manage and control the license without any user intervention.

This web application handles software licensing. This licensing system can be applied to any software application by adding a single line of code. A web portal allows the developer (or admin staff) to set-up customers/products and license subscriptions. Automatic renewals can be set-up and trial licensing is built in. The software also keeps track of the usage of your client's application and their OS environment.

The system was built with .Net technologies and runs on the AZURE cloud platform. It includes a DLL component for .Net based applications that relies on a web service to validate licenses and exchange other information. It includes an ASP.NET portal for admin management of the licenses. It also provides an API to use with cloud-based applications or other mobile devices.

This system is currently in use on all software applications released by Envisage Cloud under licensing condition to their clients.
